The work
The young Argentine artist Mauricio Lencina, has shared his painting Illogical Forms # 14 from his 2020 collection to complement an exceptional creation by our youngest and most talented winemakers. Painting and wine seem to arise from an analogous intuition in which the combination of varieties is reflected in the powerful contrast of colors.
Our oenologist preferred to make this wine as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla since the quality of this region is universally known, both for its wines made from native varieties and for those made with foreign varieties that have been exceptionally acclimatized in this mighty land. Today the wines of Tierra de Castilla compete with advantage with wines from Chile or Australia, among others.
Elaboration
After a rigorous maturation control, the harvest took place during the month of September. After destemming, a light cold skin maceration is carried out to increase the aromatic intensity of the must.
The grapes are gently pressed and the clean must ferments at a controlled temperature for a period of 20 days. The wine is then racked and remains in contact with the fine lees that will add volume and complexity.
Tasting Notes
Color: Pale yellow color with greenish and bright reflections.
Aromas: The varietal aromas of Sauvignon blanc predominate, exotic fruits are very present in this wine, pineapple, and mango. In addition, we can also find certain very subtle herbaceous touches together with the citrus fruits of the lime and grapefruit. All this makes the wine have a lot of aromatic complexity typical of the variety.
Palate: High acidity, which gives the wine a unique freshness, in addition to enhancing its aromas in the mouth. Very well structured and with a persistent and clean finish.
Denomination: I.G.P. Tierra de Castilla
